There's no reason to have A/C in a MR2 unless you live somewhere really really hot, and even then you have windows, sunroof, and t-tops to keep you cool when your driving
Mines blows cool air, not cold air, it probably just needs a recharge but I'm too lazy to do it and its already fall and going to turn winter so I need my heater to work not my A/C |

well if its still hot, the Sun is shining. Having T Tops out makes the sun beam down into the cockpit. Maybe it's just me but it burns when i do something like that haha. usually i take out the Ts when it's hot, but cloudy as well hehe.

AC compressor was removed when I got mine. Cleaned it up and was planning to rebuild it but figured why when I would just get another with the swap when I eventually get the funds together. Want to keep it an R12 type since I've read it's more efficient and less prone to leaks. Just have to horde up some cans of R12 before they're totally gone.

i got a few questions concerning a/c. first off, i got the car without it blowing cold. maybe it may need a recharge?
anyways, do you guys think that a/c leak sealer stuff works any good? what happens, let say, you put r134a into your 91na? i'm glad i checked this thread because i was very close to buying a r134a leak & refill kit for my 91 non-turbo! thanks guys. |

When I bought my 2 a couple weeks ago, it blew hot air. I took it to a shop, they checked it out, recharged it, and $67 later it blew cool, but not cold. That lasted about 4 days then back to hot air again.

They told me they checked the system for leaks, pressure, broken/ non functioning parts, etc... That's why I paid to have it done. It would have cost me around $40 to buy the recharge stuff and do it myself, so I opted to pay someone else an extra $30 or so to check the system and do the work for me. I will do it myself from here on out though.
