Id rather pay $18 and 15 mins of my time for a synthetic blend and a good filter, than pay $25 and 45 mins for some crap oil, poor filter and some guy to forget to refill my engine.

Of coarse. Spend the labor cost on quality oil/filter.

Not everyone has the time, space, tools or love of grease to change their own oil - no shame here. But I do bring my own Toyota OEM filters to Mr./Jiffy Lube and they install those instead of their crap filters.

I take my own synthetic oil to the Toyota place and have them change it. Its worth $20 to have them dispose of the oil than me store it and transport it to a disposal site.

its way too much hassle to load up the car on the trailer, haul it over, get looked at like I've got 4 heads when I unload it and ask for an oil change, etc than it is to do it myself

i am lucky and here on base they have an auto garage that has a tonn of tools and lift bays. if you're not so lucky you can get some of them ramps. all in all its def worth doing the oil changes yourself. since there are big jobs i can't do, i do every little 1 i can!

I took her to Valvoline once. They couldn't figure out why there wasn't an engine in the front, so I told them to open the garage door and drove off the pit. Do my own oil, along with my friends who ask me.

Yeah, I'm currently using Mobil 1 with NAPA, but I'm thinking of switching to Castrol Synth High Mileage and OEM filter.

I let my little brother do it as I watch him.
Actually, I let him do all the little maintenance stuff so he can learn. |
