Thinking of buying a broke MR2.

hello all, Ive loved mr2's forever now, I looked for 1 back in the day and couldnt find a turbo 1 so bought a 88 supra.

well for the past 6 years ive been in and out the car things onto 4x4's and such but thinking about getting back into it.

well I found a 91 mr2 Turbo with a broken timing belt for 1200 OBO. I dont know the condition of the car I dont know anything else about it really. he said no bent valves and all compression on clys were within 5psi.

I would be putting the timing belt in, my best friend is a Mechanic aswell that has done many timing belts just never in a mr2.

OK my questions before I go check it out what should I also check on while im there to make sure there isnt anything else wrong with it he may just be hiding with the timing belt. its hard to check out a non running car I know haha.

any help appreciated.

I hope I get it!

At $1,200 I' d be very, very careful. Priced that low sounds like the owner knows something you don't. I'd drag over your mechanic friend over and have him take a peek.
