Can I fit in a mk1 mr2?
I'm 6'3 with a medium build, I've never sat in an mr2 but was wondering would I fit comfortably in a mk1? I have long legs and I just about fit in a 93 Mustang GT.

My boss is 6' ~200lbs or so, fits with lots of room to spare.
Says he had a friend in college who drove one of these that was taller than him. |

I'm a bad example, but at 5'8 ~200lbs I spent about a week in mine, getting it home.

the guy I bought mine from was like 6'3.
it was funny seeing him in it but he had the car for a long time and drove it long distances so he must have been comfy. |

The mk1 feels like it has more room than the mk2. I'm 6'1 150lbs and I fit in both cars just fine. Feels a little cramped in the mk2, but nothing unreasonable. I have tons of space in the mk1 (occasionally I'll elbow tap a passenger that has their arm on the center console, but that's it).

I'm 6'3", 190lbs, and a relatively long torso, and I fit with room to spare. I'm not quite sure why people assume they won't be able to fit in just about any car when they're under 6'6". Manufacturers design cars to fit 95+% of the population comfortably.

It is amazingly roomy BIG Mike. In the last 20 years of ownership I have had 100's of comments about the car being a "tiny road rocket", the small exterior size and design belies it's interior roominess.
For us smaller folks, it's a Hotel, we can scoot the seat forward and kickback the seat-back for a nap real easy. |

Awesome guys, thanks. It sure looks cosy in there. I sat in a Lotus Esprit once and that was really uncomfortable.

If you're concerned about headroom, pick up a hardtop model. The sunroof eats into the headroom by an inch or two, causing me to bump my head slightly sometimes when I hit a big bump. Then again, I'm 6'3" and most of my height is in my torso- I have relatively short legs.

I'm 6' 170 and I have plenty of room. My dad is 6' 230 and he has a difficult time getting in and out. He's 50 and getting old and doesn't bend as well so he hates riding in my car for that reason but once he's in he fits fine.

Does anyone have problems working the clutch? Fortunately my recently purchased MK1 is an automatic. My left knee would hit the steering wheel every time I let a clutch up.

Are your legs 5 ft long? My knees are no where near my steering colum when I release the clutch.

sit in an s2000 and then tell me the mk1 is too small lmao. there is quite a bit of room. even when you put the T-Tops behind the seats, there is still plenty.
