air cond swap- anyone ever do it

has anyone ever swapped the ac from a mk1 into one that did not have factory ac? ( going from 1986 with ac - into 1986 without factory air)what problems will i run into, thanks ed

i need to swap my ac to that newer stuff... ill probly just end up gutting the ac out and using the t-tops
