thieve as a mr2 owner

we went to a car meet yesterday. speed hunter.com was there. a group of us mr2 was all parking together. and out of a blue. some red jdm mr2 pull up and park next to us. the owner came out of the car and start talking to the rest of the guys. i didn't think anything of it. and then, i notice that the passager guy came out and start walking around and checking all our mr2. which is fine. then, he start writing some stuff down and texting and calling on the phone alot. he wrote down our plate number and text it in to his bud. reason why i know this is i was standing behind him. and later, he came to my 94 spoiler and start pulling on it. like he's testing it out to see how easy it would be to take it off. i then, came and talk to the owner. which was his friend. and right off. i sence something was all wrong from this guy.

so, my two friends called the cop from the meet on over. they talk to the two guys and ask them to leave. after they left, i ask all the mr2 owner to park their car inside or at someone else house for the next pass weeks.

it's just get me so mad that we would have thieve for a mr2 owner. i wrote down his plate number in case something happen. his mr2 is red with jdm engine. and he's from houston texas. just letting you guys know in case you guys happen to deal or buy anyone from the texas area. i can see this kind of stuff happening in the honda world. but, not in the mr2 scene.

Dang man that is crazy, I hate people like that also. That will jack things from a person who busted his/her A$$ to get their car where it's at. Good thing you noticed all this.

dude i feel your pain. my neighbor informs me monthly about people stopping at my house looking under my car cover and $h!t. makes me mad, would be one thing if i was home and they asked to look at it but they wait till i'm not home to check it out. not cool.

Wow... it took some serious effort on my part to translate what you said into English, and I'm not even sure I got it right. Are you trying to say, in the most horrifyingly broken engrish possible, that someone was trying to steal from you?

It would be easy to jack and chop a mr2 with a 3rd gen and sell it as a half cut. Vin #s come off when you chop it in half. I hope .. irish in mi. can under stand anglo saxon southern english.

It happens more often than you guys would think. I had someone steal the exhaust right off the car in the parking garage at one of my old jobs. Security guard at the front and all, no shame.

Yeah, MR2 owners, Civic owners, Lexus owners - it doesn't really matter. People are people and some of them steal (especially if parts start becoming thin like in the MR2 world lately).

I once had my screaming chicken thingy (not that I like it) ripped off my Supercharged '89 only to see a guy in my own local board community wonder aloud what to do with this 'spare' emblem he 'found' a day or two after I 'lost' mine.

Since I've garaged my '2 in secured & patrolled underground parking I've had no probs for years.
