gen 3 or gen 4
why is it that the gen 4 has more power? and why did toyota make the turbo and everything together to where u cant just change tha turbo

The Gen4 has more power directly from the factory than the Gen3 because it has higher compression (9.0:1). This is great for the lower boost applications like how it comes stock or even with slight upgrades. But higher compression is also a problem when you start boosting higher because it just wont take as much timing/boost as a lower compression motor.
Regarding making more power. A simple boost controller on a totally stock Gen3 will put you up near 300whp in most cases (around 350-360hp at the motor), and even higher. |
