And you people complain about bad paying jobs? I'm working at freaking WENDY'S making 7.30 an hour. Bring home a 280 paycheck every 2 weeks? And i have to buy Brake fluid, Oil, gas, pay my own car insurance and my car loan (300 for the loan and insurance alone* Add 30 bucks in gas for the 2 weeks. Now tell me that you are poor.... And i'm still blowing money on my car for parts and small things X_X *i hate my life* BTW. I'm 6'4 Also driving an Mk1... Talk About Laughed At. quick question. My car seems to get pretty decent MPG except when i drive it hard or racing. Like, i can go through a quarter tank within 15 mins of hard driving or racing my friends..

Well sir, you didn't really ask a question, but "minutes per quarter tank" is a pretty rough way to estimate fuel use. Really what you need to do is record miles driven per fill-up, and divide those miles by the number of gallons it takes to fill the tank. It takes three or four fill-ups to get a solid, meaningful figure.

Naturally you'll burn more fuel if you are making more power. Keep your foot out of it, drive like a responsible adult, and you'll probably get a lot better mileage Not to mention you won't be nearly as likely to pile your car into a minivan full of somebody else's family

Just had my B-day on the 19th, I'm 53... guess that qualifys for your less mods edition. yes I'm older and somewhat slower, but still like to go fast and look good doing it. I think 7k rpm redline was for us older guys who has trouble hearing the motor, Since theres no replacement for displacement, getting a big block in a Spyder is way to much trouble and expense..(older folks are on fixed incomes) so we just do the turbo kits from Japan and cruise for vets and imports with grey haired drivers ..and sweet hardbodies who like two seaters with a rag top. <grin>

Just shy of 45.
I should get to vote 3 times; my current 2's:

1988 red s/c (in very good shape)
1991 medium blue metallic (144v electric vehicle - was turbo)
1993 lt. blue turbo (had it since it had 8 miles -> when I was 28)

AND looking for a 1986 w/sunroof or regular top for conversion to Mk1.5
