I just turned 23 on the 11th. I have a 91' NA that I'm converting to turbo in a month. I've owned it for almost 4 years. i havent drove it in about 2 years when I blew a rod and went up in flames. Since then I spent a few G's hooking up the chassis and a few odds and ends. I have KYB adjustable's all around-drilled slotted rotors- S/S brakelines-Intrax springs-S/T front and rear sway bars-turbo front dual piston calipers-TRD front and rear strut bars-and a bunch more. I'm 75% sure on putting in a Gen III over a Gen II, which I'm gonna purchase in 3 weeks. Rock out for the 20-25 year olds!!!!! Oh yea SirJohn.....sell the Pee-ata and keep the deuce!!!

been 23 for a while.....
where to start on the cars! main car: 1990 toyota corolla sr5, silvia s13 (unfinished) front end with FG hood I made.... swapped the 4afe for a smallport 4age, running on a map setup (stock 4afe ecu... modified to extend rpm range).... will outhandle most cars... (seriously...) first mr2: 1986 mr2, gutted to the max for a DD car (one seat, heater controls, and the gauge cluster... a/c was completely ripped out and both trunks removed.... along with all unnecessary egr/vacuum metal lines removed & replaced)... sold 2nd mr2: 1987 mr2.... put in: ae101 4agze, e51 trans, running on an MS v2.2 ecu... very quick car!... modified suspension, all new brakes, and more work done.... sold 3rd mr2: (given to my g/f)... 1986 purchased w/o motor or trans.... has "refreshened" ae86 (early 3 rib block) 200K mile 4age (runs like a top... keeps up with n/a mk2's)... some stereo work, an alarm system, and miata coilovers 4th mr2: current project car.... obtained with blown motor... has new motor in it, but needs body work done.... will get flush-mount headlights (to fix part of irreversible body damage)... and a CT20 on intake side... maybe MS later on and have had some other cars here and there.... |

20 in january. 91 SMG, greddy IC, in, ex, greddy tdo6, profec b II. Next week i'm about to put the money for some 16x8 and 16x9.5 kranze wheels. by december i'll put the order in for the ATS ewg kit.
i have plenty of scholarships to pay for me living expenses and school. But i also work 40+ a week and nearly all of those earnings is disposable income. After the ATS kit, i'll be saving most of it for grad school however, i want to finish my car before grad school hits because i know i wont have any money to do shiet then, lol. |

I'm 23.
A couple years ago I owned an essentially completely stock black 1986 NA with some cheap wheels that came on it. It had the equivalent of 75,000 miles on it. While I owned it, I picked up a (again, mostly stock) while 1988 Supercharged with slightly higher miles, but the body and interior were definately in better condition. The '86 had rust under the sideskirt, and the leather was cracked, but in comparison the SC was a gem I sold the NA, then the SC a year later.I picked up a 1991 Black NA about a month ago that was a barely-started project car. I parted out some of it, BEAMS 3SGE, Phoenix Power bumper, and there's still some stuff I'm going to rid myself of. I planned on doing a Toyota V6, but plans changed slightly... I also bought a 1991 White Turbo with about 74,000 miles on it. It's been totalled, so it's going to donate it heart to my black MKII while I use the wrecked shell to help me plan/fit something better ![]()

"Why would older owners have less mods?"
Less aggravation. I am 47, 48 tomorrow, and I really do not want any modifications, except a damn cup holder (old guys can't hold coffee, drive curves, and shift at the same time..grin). When I was your guy's age, I was driving MGs, Fiats, etc, and never grew out of it. I'm still a kid behind the wheel, although my new 2 is a lot more sophisticated... With the MGs and Fiats, we weren't so interested in mods, but just keeping the cars running, which kept us in the junkyards on many Saturdays, and then up to our elbows in grease on Sundays, but to drive...it was all worth it. |

I am 38. Had my first MR2 in 1985. First one in Wisconsin. Drove that car for over 300,000 miles. Bought 1993 NA. Now have yellow 85 with a 20V for daily driver.
http://geocities.com/tylerfishsmith/...l?103202436334 The 93 is undergoing some major changes as well: http://www.geocities.com/performance...?1164980541703 I don't think I will ever have a different daily driver than a MR2. My dad is 65 he has (2) 93 turbo's both heavily modded. One is putting just shy of 500 to the wheels (car is a real sleeper). He also has a MKI supercharged being restored by us now. A MKI FarEast limited version that we beat on. A 1991 NA, and a 1987 na automatic. Total of (8) MR2's that we play with daily at our MR2 only car shop a.k.a. (Beer Barn). These cars are a part of our lives and lifestyle. I think when you get older you definately do more mods because you can usually afford more toys. I enjoy still hanging out with my dad and our other friends and getting dirty. Hopefully my wife will never find the secret location of our shop....Ha. ![]() |

Almost forgot about the cherry 1985 red MR2 I bought from my mom. Showroom condition. Do not drive that car or look at it, in storage under cover. Trying to forget about it until later when I am my dads age.
