Brightest bulbs?

What are the brightest bulbs (size 1157)? I'm replacing my wiring harness for the taillights and I figured I'd replace the bulbs while they're out. I just wanted to know what would be the brightest bulbs to make them look nicer. I like LEDs because of the quickness and it would match the 3rd light up top. I know to get white ones if I do. But what about some high quality filament bulbs? Suggestions, comments.
Thanks.

I know I have seen high output bulbs in places like autozone and whatnot.
Claim to he a 'halogen' type bulb and 50% brighter. IIRC.
They have a silver look/finish to the bulb.

I've never tried them myself, but have considered it many times since my tail lights are lightly tinted.

Also typically, LED's won't give you as much brightness as a filament bulb. But thats the tradeoff for low power and long life.
