Lol! My bad Jason. I have a hard time keeping you two guys straight. That's awesome of him. You did a great job getting them done, so he must have been a very happy investor.

I've seen a picture online where someone had a cf flat underbody panel up to the front wheels. Functional if you have a Border style hood and radiator relocation kit

+1 on some MkI stuff.
i, personally, would like a set of carbon t-tops, but i'd like mine with a bubble for helmet fitment. if a standard set is available with no chance of getting the bubble, then i'd go with a set of those.

Im not sure if anyone brought this up yet or not, there are 4 pages of posts, but carbon fiber is expensive and is best used in an application that take a load. Replacing body panels or hoods would be cheaper with fiber glass since they aren't load bearing. Just paint it to match then no one would know your 50 lbs lighter or more (depending on the # of panels replaced). I was planning to do my hood and engine cover in fiber glass, paint it and save me 75 lbs or so (this is probably a terrible estimate).

I would like to see some CF sway bars with steel inserts for were the bushings are, and at the ends to bolt the drop links to. Or replace cross-members with CF and aluminum, aluminum wrapped with CF for strut braces. This is getting difficult but do-able. Hell, I think you could replace control arms with tubular carbon fiber using steel inserts for bolts and bushings and such.

But, if it for looks, then carbon fiber body panels would be cool, and they are a lot easier than trying to make sway bars or control arms.

Well, after reading this thread and thinking, here are what I'd like to see...in order of what I'd like to see...just my 2 cents!!! Please keep us updated when you decide to make anything! If you make anything I've listed, I'm down to buy it...Plz keep us informed either way!!!

-Carbon Fiber TTops, PLEASE!!! Even my Fiance` wants me to spend money on those, LOL...

-Carbon Fiber Engine Lid Sides (to go with the cf engine lid)

-Carbon Fiber Phoenix Power Style Engine Lid

-Carbon Fiber Din Panel (for under the Single DIN radio) for Gauges

-Front Underpanel and/or Rear Difuser

-Carbon Fiber Radiator Cooling Plate

-Carbon Fiber Border Style Front Hood (I put this last cuz I thought you might feel you couldn't hit a worthwhile price point).

I was going to say the same thing, and then I read your post. Cosmetic carbon is all well and good, but it really is a waste. Carbon fiber crossmember and suspension pieces, now that could save some SERIOUS weight, not to mention some of it could be unsprung weight even. The downside is some serious analysis and testing would be necessary... don't want a wheel falling off.

A cheaper trunk lid would definitely be great on an mk2,I heard they bow over time if kept with the sun is that true?Fenders would be nice but if you did make fenders would it be out of dry CF or wet?
