Stripping Primer

Was wondering if anyone might know a good way to strip primer off a car? This is what i'm dealing with, and it probably going to sound like the most retarded thing (it did to me when i found it out) I bought my MR2 from some guy and it was painted primer black. No big deal, thought i'd just sand it down some more and get it ready for paint. What i found out was that he primed it right over the stock color, which is in perfect condition once you get the primer off it. I was using a sponge and some water to get it off, but it's taking forever. Anyone have an idea how i can speed the process up to get to the stock color underneath and not damage it serverely?

I am wondering the same thing, the previous owner of my black two did the same thing. He primered right over the stock color(crimson red)!

urethane reducer on a soft cloth. it'll be about 15 bucks for a gallon at a paint shop. it'll wipe right off!

edit: thats assuming they used rattle can primer.. that stuff will wipe right off with reducer. if its epoxy primer it wont do anything. the reducer cuts the primer so fast it will leave your real coat of paint intact.
