Did '95 black MR2 paint have any metallic look at all?

What's a sure way to tell if an MR2 has its original paint?

Look around common overspray areas - door jambs, under the engine lid, strut towers, under the gas door, ect. If there looks like there is overspray, then it probably doesn't have original paint. But if everything matches up, then it most likely is original.

I've taken a bolt off from under the lid to check and odd places that might have been missed by a spray (i.e. the fold/hinge on the power mirrors, between the spoiler and trunk, etc.)

not really a good way to tell....any quality paint won't have this. Sometimes the VIN stickers on the fender jams (when you pop the hood) will be missing because they were sanded off and the area was painted.

Did 1995 black MR2 original paint have any metallic flakes in it?

I finally properly washed and claybarred my car, then put a few layers of Zaino on it. The paint looks great, but tonight I barely noticed that the black paint is slightly metallic if you hold a light up to it!

If not, then my car has been repainted!
