So what's involved...?

Well, in a few weeks, I'm going to be sending my car to the guy who does all ym FG work and have the front reworked so it looks like factory. I'm going to be there every minute of every day that they are working on the car learning how to do FG and hopefully by the end of the venture, I will come out of it with some skill. I plan to do alot of little FG projects after that, but I'd like to someday learn to layup CF. I'm just wondering how much different/harder it is than doing FG.

It all depends on what kind of resin you use though. Vinylester, polyester, or one of the many epoxy resins.

Structurally it's pretty much the same. The big difference is if you want to show off the weave of either material you have to spend extra time and care making sure the weave looks nice.

i would love to see a good write-up on doing carbon fiber compared to fiberglass. Ive done alot of fiberglass work and am unknowledgable when it comes to CF.

Its not really all that different. Just a pain sometimes. Ambient temps for resin, keeping the weave straight and some other annoying stuff. If you follow Turboguys writeup, you will save quite a substantial amount of time and money on ****ups. I spent tons of money fooling around before I started getting results I liked.
