Turboguy, question..
Know of any good liquid foam? I need something to pour into molds, something that I can dispose of after I form over it (like digging it out of the mold) So obviously it has to be affordable.
I guess any cheap substance would be good, as long as I can rip it out. I know I saw some new rubber type stuff that you can basically force out of a mold and it will hold its shape... Any suggestions? |

The only problem is an expandable closed cell liquid urethane foam isn't very cheap. You can get it here for just under $60 for a 2 cubic foot kit.
I checked EBAY and found this. Its an 8 cubic foot kit for only $72. I like this guys pricing. Last edited by turboguy; 11-12-2005 at 12:02 PM.. |

Yeah that's just not affordable to dispose of every time. Ill probably go with some form holding rubber that I can yank out.

What exactly are you trying to do? If I had an idea, I might be able to help a little more.

I have only seen one kind of mix and pour foam (same as above) and it's expensive in small quantites. I have seen better deals on ebay, and another option is to try to find a local boat builder, or hot tub builder or someone who orders it in larger quantities and get it form them. |

i use the aerosol spray foam you find at your local home depot or lowes. The fiberglass resin will eat it so i use household foil or syran wrap over the mold. It works for me, im not a professional though but i find it easy to use. It doesnt settle flat so you have to sand it down flat, its good for curves and stuff like that.
