DETAIL: mk1 carpet (need picture)

I need a picture of how the carpet is cut around the e-brake in a mk1.

somebody threw out my old carpet before i opened the new

Is that the ebay carpet? I would like to buy a new carpet for my 87 but if they suck as bad as I've been reading, I'll pass.

it was. Cost about 150 all told. Don't buy it, I could spend three full days on that crap and it still wouldnt fit right. Theres too much in some places, not enough in others, it doesnt have *any* of the various clips and plastic mabobbers that hold it in place (and you cant just move those from rug to rug)

It wouldnt be so bad if it was the right shape, but it's not. the way this one was deformed, it would always have a "bubble" of sorts down on the wall next to the gas pedal, constantly rubbing on my shoe. Can you imagine?
I located my ripped-to-**** dirty hole-filled stock carpet and put it back in.

I have ok carpet i will part from for 50.... the only thing wrong with the carpet is my master cylender was leaking and is darker by the pedels... no holes rips low spots.... perfect.. exept for the darker spot.... pm me...

It does take work to use it. You need a can or two of the 3m carpet adhesive for the bubble and other areas in the footwell... the stapled fasteners along the doors need to be unbent removed and relocated and staples rebent..... all holes have to be cut out... it is molded and itdoes fit however, but it takes A LOT of work and some ingenuity. If you work from the middle console to the door on each side, you should end up having to only trim some by the dummy pedal and up under the dash area, and a SLIGHT amount at the doors. The firewall carpet was a bit tedious to cut each slot for the metal hanging bar, etc... but patience and persistence and its done. Took me about two full weekends to complete it.. I was sore afterwards and its far from perfect... you could look hard and find my mistakes but it does look good and I learned a lot.... Sure OEM carpet from a part out would be easier but nothing looks as good as clean new carpet!
