Can you wash your car too much?

I never really washed my mki that often, but now with the new second gen I keep washing it like every week, is this ok or should I be putting more time between washes?

I don't see how it could be a problem if your not washing it with anything that would be harmful to the car.

It's fine as long as you arent using any abrasives.

and make sure you don't have the car wash stuff too concentrated, if it's too thick certain car washes can still strip your paint, even though they are safe at the proper dilution.

Ah...wash the hell out of them. You'll get over it eventually. Just make sure to wax occasionally.

Remember to use the right kind of towels for drying and mitts to wash with. That way you dont scratch your clear coat.

I wash it once a week (or after it rains), and do the inside every 2 or 3 weeks depending how badly it needs it. I wash it in the car washes but I use a sponge instead of the brush and not high pressure water. Dry it off well when I'm done.

I'm really anal about my car too, especially the windows. Windows have to be like no smudges, no streaks, nothing. Just beautiful : )
See:~

I love clean windows. See the pretty windows??

Looks nice... except you should really repair that (rust spot?) over the front pass wheel well.
If its not deep you can simply sand it down until theres only metal and then get a can of touch up at your dealer.

It's rust, the previous owner side swiped a bus in the car. Front fender is mangled a little and the molding all down the side came away from the car. I normally would try to do it myself, but I'd just rahter have this one done professionally. I got a quote from a body shop I know, and he said that the fender is fixable. Since it's contained (in a removable part) I'm just letting it be until I can afford to fix it, which should be within the next few months.

Like the others have said, you can't wash your car too much.

And again, like other have said, make sure to use only a car shampoo and good quality towels.

I wash the MR2 often weekly and she usually gets a fresh dose of Meguiars #34 Final Inspection Quick Detailer after each wash.
