Dampen a cloth with paint thinner or nail polish remover and rub on the rubber. Don't get it on the paint, you'll take the wax off there too.

I can't use paint thinner or anything remotely close to that because I have acryllic overlay on my fingernails to keep them from breaking with everyday use. That stuff will eat em right up. I'll try the wax thing though, I can picture me messing it up and getting wax all over my trim. This is what I get for waxing it at night
![]() Thanks guys Trying tomorrow! |

Seriously, the only thing that will take dried wax off is wax. Put some on a rag and give her a good buffing with your finger, it will come right off. Just have another rag handy to wipe the wax off when the dried stuff comes off or you have to start over again.

I'm sad. My bf did his truck and got some on the trim and a armorall cleaning wipe took it RIGHT off, one swipe. I guess 1991 trim isn't as forgiving as 2004.
Thanks for the tip, phoenix, I'm going to try tomorrow. |

Moisten an old SOFT toothbrush with a little Stoner's tarminator and brush it gently. That works for me when I see wax on a car. But , for the next time you wax please use masking tape so that this dosen't happen again. A few minutes of taping the molding will make things go much easier and quicker.

Am I the only one that got the wrong meaning from the title of the thread?
![]() EDIT: I just realized that I read it wrong. I thought it was "Wax or trim". I guess it's funny either way tho. K, going to hide now. ![]()

They feel icky.
I got the wax off anyway. I was rooting through my 87 for some touch up paint I had and I came across this cheap ass crappy vinyl cleaner I used when I didn't care what cleaning products I used on my car. I gave it a try with a toothbrush and it took it right off, and my trim looks all spiffy and darker too ![]() |
