wheel repair
Do you guys also have sources to do wheel repair? I have some 19x10's and 18x8.5's that need to be straightened/repaired and then re-coated. But the part I'm really concerned about is the straightening.

Most wheel shops average between 65-80 bucks a wheel for straightening.
In fact I just took my wheels to a local shop here in SLC called Wheel Werks and their price is 80 bucks to straighten. They charged me 120 to reweld a crack in the lip. Most places can straighten wheels really well though. Im sure theres places local to you that can do it too Baktash, then ship them off to GSS and have them powdercoated ![]() |

I just dont know anywhere that I trust for wheel repair which is why I'd rather send it off to someone else if a board member has someone that they trust. I've had and also heard plenty of bad experiences with wheel repair
Specially with larger wheels. |

I had a minor bend and refinish job done at wheels america in san antonio. the bend fix was great, but the refinish was probably only about 95% good. it was fine if you weren't looking for imperfections, but if you looked they were certainly there.

baktash, i would reccommend getting your wheels repaired locally as stated above and then sending them to us. ask them if they will charge less if they dont have to worry about the finish. perhaps we could work out a nice deal in exchange for your powdercoating

Bak, my wheel thats in the shop right now is a 18x8
Its pretty damn bent too. The front wheel was a 17x7 and it cracked and this place by me was able to fix it perfectly. You should have no problems finding a place locally that can do it. Last edited by Luni; 03-05-2008 at 01:11 PM. |
