Yeah. I did have photos on Yahoo! Photos until they got rid of it. Haven't changed over to photobucket or one of those other ones yet.

I'm not sure what you are asking. But the leatherseats covers did look very OEM. Its the reason I bought them. The bottom cushion is separate from the back rest. The foam is clued onto the metal seat plate. I just put foam on top of it instead of tearing off the old foam. The foam in my seats weren't in bad condition, just a little delated from 16 years of sitting. The memory foam filled the seats out nicely. I'm sure any additional filling would have done the same, but the memory foam is more comfortable.

I could probably find out where I could get some Memory foam from if I needed to, but I've never looked into using it, so I don't know where to get it off the top of my head. I usually get most of my foam from an upholstery wholesaler here in the Pacific NW.

When rebuilding a seat, make sure you cut the foam to fit the hole/opening you are trying to fill. You need to keep the shape of the foam similar to factory, since you'll be re-covering it. You can add more foam though, and the cover should still fit on, since foam compresses. I've added 1/2 of foam before as padding/cushioning before re-wrapping a seat, and they came out fine. That will fill out the seats more too, and the covers will fit more taut as a result.

There's a reasonable auto uppolstry place in Malden, Ma. near Boston. I don't know what they would charge for a car seat, but they only charged 500 for a dental chair. they did a very nice job.

I highly recommend Wet Okole seat covers. They're a bit spendy - but fit your seats like a glove. Wet Okole Hawaii

I actually just purchased the same seats that is linked to the ebay site, but from another seller (second hand, but new). I just got them in the mail today. They are actually rather nice. Black leather with red stitching. They look like they'll fit up fine. I'm not crazy about the perforated sections, but I was on a tight budget.

I had a set of wet okale covers on another car. They made my uncomfortable seats ALOT better. I got mine second hand. New, for the money, I wouldn't recommend them, they're just fancy covers. Easy to clean though...

The MR2 has some of the, if not THE, most comfy seats I have ever sat in. IMO, I wouldn't swap them out. Just get them redone.

Yup. They're just fancy covers that make your seats look better than new, makes them way more comfortable, lets you choose what colors you want on them, makes them water resistant, lets you avoid the hassle of installing new seats, cost less than reupholstering and only takes minutes to install.

^True...the ones I had fit like a seat cover (since that's what they are). My driver's side never really fit correctly. I bought my new leather for $335 shipped. Took them to a local shop this morning. The guy says they'll fit just fine and is charging me $100 to put them on. I'd rather spend $450 for new leather seats than $235+ (for just the basic ones, nothing fancy) for the wet okalies. Just my $.02

does anyone know if there exists a thread on how to 'dismantle' the factory seat... I have searched but I'm trying to figure out if its possible to swap the 'backs' of the seats...leaving the 'bum' part intact... i bought a set of OEM LHD seats i want to put into my RHD car, but i dont want my passenger getting all the lumbar controls and so on....

It's just two bolts on either side of the upper part of the seat. To get to the bolt that is higher up on the seat is a bitch though. I had to tear the seat a little at the corner to stick my socket wrench in there and then stitched it up afterwards. Not to bad just hard getting to those top bolts.

I know that this is an older thread but any shop that does interiors will be able to get some memory foam for you and do the install. I work for an interior and top shop and I do this stuff all day long.... If you want leather with swede inserts go through katzskins they are not cheap for your wallet or in craftsmanship. and they can do some custom embroidery work if you want the seats to say toyota or MR2 or trd whatever you want if you send a pic they can do it.....
I think that if you want something great go custom buy it will cost you. I am at a shop in cincinnati ohio .........

Not to zombie an old thread, but does anyone know where I might find a cloth upholstery kit? Like leatherseats or Katskin, but in cloth? I really like my MR2 seats, but they're in sad condition . . .
