You are j/k I know but consider this: If you convert all of your lights to LED's (exterior), and the headlights to HID, the total wattage used by your car goes down, which means you are loading the alternator less. This frees up HP!
Probably only like 1/2 hp, but its still more HP to go fast! |

The JDM climate control is exactly the same as the US one. The only difference is the A/C button. I don't think that the JDM A/C & Econ button work on the US harness.

Looking at $70 shipped. What color scheme did you want? My turnaround time is going to be about 2 weeks. I am going on a small vacation at the end of the week so I won't be able to start until I get back.

I was interested in keeping the lights factory colors, like a/c button blue, econ button green, defroster orange/red. but the rest could be just white, or green to match the stock colors. I already have white LED's in the gauge cluster, but need some new ones and would like to invest in those flatter ones that don't require sanding. I was also thinking of switching the instrument ones to a nice blue. Perhaps when i send you the HVAC cluster you could send it back with the LED's to replace the instrument cluster? How much extra would that be? Also can you do the window switches on the door panels? |

The MKII uses 4 bulbs, but does that include the indicator lights?

It is 2 background bulbs, and 8 indicator bulbs. The A/C button is a background bulb and an indicator bulb

What LED did you use to get your hazard light so bright? I'm using a 3mm red LED and 470 ohm resistor, but it's the wimpiest light on my dash. I was thinking of using a 5mm LED, and then wire it so the resistor is outside of the hazard light unit, resting between the vent and button assembly. Do you have a suggested wavelength or output I could try?

I used a red 3mm LED and 470 ohm resistor. It is very bright. I use a 625nm LED with a 30 degree viewing angle.

Ah. I think I'm going to go with a 5mm LED with external resistor.

Haven't tried a radio before. A stock radio is a rarity!

I've done it!!! The CD player is one bulb and I just soldered in a Red LED. The Cassette/Radio has around 10 bulbs. Better idea is to buy red sleeves (condoms) for them. Had a hell of a time tracking them down but i found some if you are interested.

Ben,
I still have the stock AM/FM Cassette. I also have a stock CD player, but it doesn't play CD's. If I didn't toss it, you can have the CD player. If the stock radio takes 10 bulbs, I am wondering, if I would be better off getting an aftermarket radio that is iPod compatable? RIght now, I use a tape adaptor for my iPod in my stock radio. |

I personally don't like the iPod control in my sony head unit. It takes too long to find a song I want. What you can do is not use the control bus on the unit and then use an RCA to 3.5mm cable in place of an iPod connector, that way the iPod feels more integrated (ie no wires out of the front of the unit) and you get full control. If you don't mind the sound with the tape deck, I don't see any real reason to switch (unless you want CD capabilities too).
