GI: Illuminated Rear Name Plate
I am introducing my version of the JDM style indiglo rear name plate. The JDM name plate is among the rarest of the JDM options.
My name plates are made of laser cut aluminum that provide exact fitment and allow for perfect proportion of the MR2 letters. You also get a choice of COLOR! Colors available are: red, blue, green, "indiglo green", white, amber, and orange. Installation of the name plate does require gluing the plate to the rear garnish, so it is not easily removed. I can also glue the panel for you if you are not comfortable doing so. Check local regulations before installation - this is for display purposes only. It is not meant to act as any type of indicator light! Price: $110 Includes: Name plate, light bar, all necessary wiring and connectors, and shipping. Color Changing Kits are $140 shipped The name plate looks just like the stock plate: ![]() Red ![]() ![]() "JDM Indiglo Green" ![]() ![]() Blue ![]() ![]() White ![]() ![]() Violet ![]() ![]() Turbo/TRD/SW20 ![]() ![]() ![]() The red is a very solid red and it comes out distorted in the pics....... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The entire kit: ![]() Last edited by Ben; 07-08-2009 at 01:12 PM. |

Are these the whole center panel you are selling? Or just the MR2 part in the middle?
Reason I ask is because I have the Revision 6 tails and would love to put this in the center. |

It is just the name plate (the center piece). It does requiring gluing to the rear garnish. The name plate itself is about 3/16" thick.

Cool, so I'd be able to put it on my Rev. 6 center piece? I guess I just gotta maybe cut out where I'd want the light to shine through, eh!

Ben put me on the list! I've been toying with the idea of getting those for awhile now and throwing some red leds in and wiring it up to the brake light

But you certainly can get a red bar and wiring to the brakes only. The only catch is that it will be off when the brakes are off. Last edited by Ben; 10-13-2008 at 11:21 PM. |

Yeah my idea was having them only lighting up when you press the brakes.

Lighted JDM Naneplate
Are you using LED's? I don't see any hotspots except on the red lights. Can you get more pictures?

Yes, the plate is lit with LEDs. The hotspots on the red plate is from the camera. There are no hotspots for the red. It is the same illusion as from taking a picture of the taillights. (The taillights look like they have hotspots when they really don't)

Looks good. Have you thought about using cold cathode flourescent? I've never had a chance to compare the two (led vs. ccf) for brightness, but I was wondering for something like this, it almost seems like a flat surface producing light would be better than a normal LED. Of course, i've also go no idea about cost in relation to light output etc etc.
Looks good. |

I want to get the install kit finalized before I start accepting payments. But that should be ready next week. No worries Davis, I'll hold a kit for you!
