AW11 Fiberglass/Carbon Snap-In Cupholder
While i really love my new AW11 MR2
the only complaint i have is there is no Cupholder in the Car Now i have looked around this fourm and the net and i could not find anything i myself would use.. nor could i find a good DIY as i refuse to drill tap or Tape anything to my Interior Plastic panels or Dash So i started to look around the inside of my Car and found a really good spot that will allow the Cupholder to snap in and out with out having to mod. any of the Factory Componts.. and does not get in the way of any controls or passengers.. THe first version i made is made with Wally-World foam board boxed together. my second one will be from a block of solid polyester foam when i pick some up.. Now what i would like to know IF i went thru all the work of making a mold so i could make more would people be interested in Buying them??? (Oh and i did not know if this should go here as it has to do with the interior Or if it should go in the Composites sub-forum feel free to move if need be) Cheers Kyo |

Not replace
More like utilize the Ashtray The next set of Photos will better show how it fit's / works But no i think this would only work for 85-86 i could make something similar for 87-89 but i don't have one to work with.. Cheers |

Nice idea...
Hey, what's the black cup looking thing you are using from? I just hope you don't get too many passengers because they will be hitting that more of than you think. I like the idea but I think that's just too close to the passenger knees. I may be wrong though. Either way, just another great idea.

efx ---> The black cup holder is acctualy a Toyota Cup holder Liner from a 07 FJ
yeah serprizaling enough it does not bother the passengers knees at all it only sticks out a little more then the center console. I will take a pic of me in the passenger seat to give ya a idea.. I am 6ft 3in and Very husky and i still got loads of knee room.. That was one of my concerns To so i designed around it.. Thanks Cheers Kyo Last edited by Kyo; 05-22-2009 at 05:01 PM. |

Here are some quick pics with me in the passenger seat and cupholder in place
The good thing is that if you get a Really Really husky persone a ride they can hold the drinks and the cupholder will pop right out in mere sec. Cheers Kyo Last edited by Kyo; 05-22-2009 at 07:35 PM. |
