Shifter mod

Can anyone tell me anything about the shifter mod below???

i have always thought about making one of those but never knew how it would look in my car..... dont like it to much now.... plus your just asking for a missed shift

I was also plannin on doing this ..you'll never have to worry about replacing boots..& place many exotics have em..but in my mind i think it should be integrated into the lil plate bcuz it looks as if it doesnt belong
