I have a 1986 MKI non-supercharged MR2. I'm looking for California rated catalytic converter (if there was one back then) + 2 gaskets, and the bolts would probably be a good idea too.

Toyota does not price these cats attractively, that's for sure. I do have a jig and some flanges at home and can make bolt-in cats that are nicer than the generic universal ones I've seen, but I need to inventory my stuff and see what I still have. It's been a while since I messed with exhaust work and I don't remember whether I still have the right flanges for these things or not.

Here's the pricing on the Toyota converter and other parts you asked about. California and Federal cars used the same converter.

18450-16350 - $448.28 - Catalytic converter
90080-43028 - $1.47 - Gasket, inlet
90917-06044 - $7.66 - Gasket, outlet
91512-81035 - $0.78 - Bolt (ea.)

Yikes! I was quoted a little more than that from another dealer and was hoping he was trying to jack up the price.

Do most people just get rid of the Cat. for MKIs? I may have to live with the leak for a bit. Would the bolt in cat you make be CA smog legal for an '86? Pricing? I appreciate the help.
