'86 MK1 Parts Wanted

1. Front license plate mount
2. Rear Window Plastic Valence / Spoiler
3. Floor Mats

Did a search on all these, from reading through things it looks like I'm SOL on the mats. Can you help on the other items?

The front license plate bracket is part of the front bumper retainer. It is still available, as is the black moulding aboove the rear window, but the visor is probably not.

52506-17010 - $51.79 - Retainer
74390-19035 - $247.29 - Visor
75507-17010 - $112.55 - Moulding

Mats have not been available from Toyota for a long time. We have a line on some great fitting mats and we've been planning on reproducing them with the factory style MR2 embroidery, but haven't had the time yet to get that project rolling. I have had a set of these mats in my own AW11 for a year now and they still look great because the driver's side has a vinyl heel pad. Not everyone wants that heel pad but for those who do, it adds a lot of longevity to the mats. Anyway, I'll get together with the boss and see if we can find time to move forward with this project!

Tim, you are certainly free to contact goixoye directly (PM, email etc) if you'd like to offer him your own parts, but it is best not to post those offers in the vendor/sponsor forums.

When I posted this I didn't have the car....It came from Indiana (no front plate required). From the pictures it looked like it didn't have a way to mount the front plate, which is required here in VA. When I got it home and looked closely it looks like it has a mount...kinda tucked up under the front bumper a bit. So I think that was a false alarm, sorry.

On the visor you mention you don't think it's available. Can you check? Does the price you quoted include whatever might be needed to mount it? My car doesn't have one on it so I need everything. Is the moulding different with the visor? Do I need that too?

On the floor mats, I am definitely getting some. I'm trying to find a source and would be willing to wait....How long until you might get things rolling on yours and how much? If you already have a set would it be possible to buy directly from your source (if you don't move forward with them)? Would you be willing to share your source (especially if you don't do it)? Or is that not a question I should ask?

There are a couple of other items required to add the rear visor. The EPC is not real clear but it appears that the visor would come with four screws and the corresponding spacers (two for each end). If you would like to buy one I can call and find out if they are still available. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but it does take some time out of my day to do that, so I try to do it only if people actually plan to follow through with the purchase.

You can ask any questions you like, but we are going to keep things pretty quiet until we have a product to talk about Right now it looks as though pricing would be in the $90 range for a set of mats that has the correct logo embroidery and a heel pad. I will try to get the boss involved later this week and see if we can finally begin work on this project.

$247.29 is alot of money to me. Still chewing on it. I have limited funds to put into the car right now and the visor is not at the top of the list. Also not sure that there aren't at least maybe a few more parts and $ that might be required. After things level off I might be in touch.

I am still very interested in the mats. Please keep me posted on those.

Whoa,

I was trying to suggest that for 35.00 you can put a sunvisor above the rear/back glass.

Personnally I could not afford 247.00 either

There are cheaper ways to do car mods, you must have the courage, and some confidence that you can indeed do the work. It took many years for me.

I've been a Budget Racer for 19 years, we had 3 teenagers when racing started for me at 40.

Well, if I do it I want it done right. I'm old and wise enough to realize you get what you pay for. When the visor thing makes it's way to the top of my priority list I'll get into the nuts and bolts of it...figure out an exact list of ALL parts needed...figure out total cost required and...pull the trigger if I can find one and if I can bear the cost. Until then I'll probably keep an eye out for an MR2 with one of these things on it and see if I can figure out what the deal is with mounting, etc.

Sorry to cause such a stir.

No worries. Feeding the cats in the morning involves far more drama than this thread holds. Well, the feeding isn't actually so bad, but the beatings leading up to it are a little noisy...
