94 wiper arm & windshield cowl

Hey Aaron,

I'm looking to upgrade the wiper arms from 91 to 94, can you provide me a quote for 94 left and right wiper arms? Shipping?

Also my windshield cowl is somewhat broken, how much is it? Shipping? Do you know if a broken windshield cowl will cause water leaking into the carpet?

Thanks.

My Google Map

85212-17071 - Wiper blade, RH
85222-1G100 - Wiper blade, LH, w/ wing
85211-17061 - Wiper arm, RH
85221-17031 - Wiper arm, LH
85292-01020 - Cap, wiper arm nut (x2 req'd)

55708-17020 - Louver, cowl top ventilator no 1 (standard) now superseded by 55708-17030
55708-17030 - Louver, cowl top ventilator no.1 (cold spec or Canada)
55877-17010 - Cover, cowl vent screw, RH
55878-17010 - Cover, cowl vent screw, LH

That cowl louver is not a seal. If you have water leaking in, it's coming from somewhere else. Shipping on the wiper arms and blades would be $9.73, and on the cowl louver about $22. You could ship the arms and blades along with the louver without increasing the shipping cost because you're paying for the size of the louver more than the weight.

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

Good question. The cold spec package, a.k.a. all weather package, usually has a heavy duty heater. It affects the cowl louver by adding a screen to help keep debris (snow, evergreen needles, etc) from making their way into the cowl.

Did you ever order one of these windshield wiper cowls? If so which one did you get and do you think you made the right decision? I have a 95 na>T swap and mine is peeling pretty bad so im looking to replace mine as well. Basically just looking for any thoughts, reviews, advice on replacing this part.

What's the part # for the nuts so the caps will attach properly?

Sorry, I'm not at work today. They give me weekends off for bad behavior. Try 90179-08113.

There is no difference in cowl louvers between different model years.

Which wiper blade should I order?

Quote:
85212-17071 - Wiper blade, RH
85222-1G100 - Wiper blade, LH,w/ wing
All of the Toyota parts diagrams for the MkII show the wipers for a Japanese RH Drive version of the car. So the RH blade with the wing sweeps from the center of the windshield to the right edge in front of the driver. (see #5 in diagram)

I want to buy the Drivers Side wiper blade for my US LH Drive car. Based on the diagram and the logic that the blade sweeping to the edge of the windshield needs the wing for down-pressure, shouldn't I order the RH blade with the wing? If I do will the mounting tab be oriented properly to attach to the arm?

I've never seen an MR2 in original show-room condition so I don't know which side the winged blade came on from the factory.

That's embarrassing. You caught my typo. The LH wiper blade has the wing on US cars, and I have corrected the part descriptions in my post and your quote of my post to reflect that.

Crawling back under my rock now...
