LOCKER???

So ive almost decided against welding the diff IF this is a possibility. Is there a locker (air or cable locker) which is used to lock the differential and unlock it when needed that is compatible with my 1991 turbo 3sgte. I belive its the E serires tranny. The reason i believe there might be one out there that is compatible is because there is probably another differential that is the same one thats used in the mr2. Im not sure on this so thats why im seeing if anyone knows. Or id also be interested in just buying and lsd and axles from someone else.

I have never heard of such a thing for a transverse application. It would not be useful in anything but an off-road vehicle anyway.

Well im going to be drifting. I havent heard of any for a transaxle either. but essentially it is just a differential in their. and if that diff is the same as something thats rear drive then potentially it could work.

In an MR2? I see.

I don't believe any FR application shares the same differential case.

Possibly an AE101 (91-95 corolla) uses the same fron viscous LSD as the sw20?

Something i found out:

According to KAAZ's listings of LSD's:
AE92 Corrola PN: DAT2010
AE101 Corolla PN: DAT2010
SW20 PN: DAT2010

They all use the same viscous LDS.

Question:

If i buy the KAAZ VLSD and put it in my non lsd tranny, will i still need lsd axles? or would it be specifically made to fit the regular non lsd axles?

aftermarket lsd's should work with both non lsd axles and lsd axles. Either way, machining axles is cheap compared to cost of a new kaaz lsd.

If you want to install kaaz, you will need to buy some other trans parts too. Like the speedo gear. And lsd bolts. It's like a total of 75$ ish assuming you don't replace anything else in your trans, which you probably will want to while you have it apart. Actually... the kaaz may come with the bolts... so then it would be 50$ ish.
