distributor seal.

hey how are you Aaron. been a while.

i have a leak on my distributor but it seems to be from the inner seal. (because my dizzy cap has oil in it.) i don't want to mess with it. so I'm taking my chance with a used distributor from another 2.2l

I do want to replace the outer seal though.
how much would that be shipped to 33144

thanks

car is 1991 2.2l

It's very common. If you have an internal leak, you can rebuild the distributor with a kit from kbox. I've had success using it, but if the distributor shaft is worn, a new seal will not prevent leaks.

On a cheap part like this it doesn't make sense to pay for UPS or Priority Mail, but slow boat shipping is still pretty cheap:

90099-14091 - $2.61 - O-ring, distributor housing
First class - $1.00
Grand total - $3.61

It'll cost you more locally (maybe $4 or $5 max) because most dealerships don't give you a discount like we do, but it's such a cheap part they can't possibly charge too much for it. If you need it flying fast it probably makes more sense to get it locally. Most Toyota dealers should have that part number in stock.

Yeah, a lot of East Coast guys call at like 5:30 AM...it's just part of being on the West Coast, I guess.

90099-14091 is the outer o-ring that seals the distributor housing to the engine.

Hello from Florida (we race 12 months a year here)

Saw your info on seals and wanted to know if Toyota supplied innner shaft seals on the 88-89 Mark1 S/C distributors, and, if they are interchangeable on the N/A distributors as well? (same part?)

Thanks for your assistance (& pricing?).

Nope. Toyota doesn't do it for anything. The Kbox kit is the best way to get that inner seal and the other parts required to replace it.

That's the one. It is supposed to be pliable and flexible.
