Key with Transponder

Hi.

I found this part number in another thread. Is it a key with the transponder chip?

90999-00164 - 7.80 - OEM Toyota key w/ plastic head, MkII

If so, I have the code number that came with the keys for my car, but would like a new key that is programmed. I don't want to post my number though

Can I do this over the phone with you?

Thanks,

John

Your '94 doesn't have a transponder key. The code you mentioned refers to the shape of the cut on the key blade, not to the programming of any electronics. If you have that code, I can cut the keys to that code and ship them out to you, no worries. Since we normally handle payment over the phone, that would work for the code as well.

For general information, Toyotas typically have to have the vehicle and all keys together to program them. If you had a newer Toyota with a chip key, I couldn't program it unless the vehicle was also here.

Also, the price has risen on that part since the post you found, up to a staggering $8.13 And I still have them in stock.

Sure, I sell it, but I sell it cheaper, and I don't charge as much for shipping

58808-17031-C0 $28.68 - Shift boot, '93+ MkII

And thanks for your order today!
