It's time again - Another LITHIA TOYOTA OF SPRINGFIELD Weatherstrip sale!
Here it is again - time to put some weatherstrips on sale! Once again, T-top seals will be the most popular, but we are still including seals for hardtop and sunroof cars. These are the seals that run up the A-pillar, across the roof, and back down the B-pillar, plus sunroof or t-top panel seals as applicable.
Here are the sale prices on the seals. These prices are significantly lower than our standard MR2 discount, so now is the time to get your car sealed up! This sale will end February 28, 2009. PearlJammzz, here is a picture of what Aaron is taking about. They are the Eccentric Rod Guides Type-B (off center). The ones that came on the car are type-a in the picture. ![]() They helped me a out a lot with my leak. Here's a link to the thread I originally posted that in. Check it out, it's dedicated to leaky t-tops. Water Leak, Wet rear floor pan...T-Top, Drain tube?? Help Please!! Here's a link to the post, 5th picture down. Water Leak, Wet rear floor pan...T-Top, Drain tube?? Help Please!! Even if you get the seals, I recommend these. They make a huge differance, allowing you to adjust the t-tops tighter in 1 of 4 directions. They easily allowing you to adjust the fit and alignment of the t-tops. For $7.32 for a set of 4 they are well worth it Also try ShinEtsu Grease from Honda. It's a silicon grease and won't rot the seals like vasiline. Same idea as the vasiline trick to stock leaks, but it's safe for seals...this is what it's made for. Not sure if Aaron can get that for you (don't know if Lithia has a Honda dealership or not), but it's not very expensive, so I'd pick that up too. |

Very nice thread
. Mine isn't THAT bad, unless I am moving. Then it rlly likes to come in on the passenger side. Maybe I'll try some of that crap from Honda first and see if I can get that to help seal it up. |

Does the MKII weatherstrip LH including the clips? Are they hard to get off or easily broken? Will I need to replace them?

The clips that hold the weatherstrip in place are included with the weatherstrip, but also available separately if need be.

I'd definitely try using the ShinEtsu grease and the Type-B female eccentric guides (part # 63284-17030). Good luck!! |

Question and sorry if this has already been asked, but my t-tops are leaking at the corner of the ttops where the top meets the pillars. I tried using the tape method, which worked slightly. It helps a bunch, but it's ugly as hell. It seems the weatherstrips aren't touching. And when I put the top on the passenger side, there's an offset of the top to the car. I'll take a picture and post when it stops raining here in socal. Is this problem due to the eccentric rod guides or do I need new weatherstrips? Also, it is leaking on the passenger side where to middle top of the window meets the ttop. There seems to be some small gap there and every time I wash my car and spray at it at an angle, water goes flying in like the windows not even there. I'm a poor college student and I really can't afford the whole set of weatherstrips so any advice for a low budget fix it? I've gone through 2 rolls of tape!

You didn't tell me what kind of MR2 you have so I'm not sure which parts you need. If you don't tell me, I guess I can assume you are a MkII T-top owner, because they flatly deny the existence of any other form of MR2...

Try the eccentric rod guides and some Shin-Etsu grease first. I can't guarantee that they will totally fix the leaks, but they are the only cheap options. The next step is new weatherstrips, and even on a hell of a sale, I can't call them cheap. You probably do need them, but you might be able to postpone the purchase a while longer with eccentric rod guides and Shin-Etsu grease. |

FYI for those that live in cali, don't know if it's the same elsewhere,
but the eccentric rod guides are a lil over 2.50 each @ claremont toyota in socal. Also, the shinetsu grease is a lil under 20 dollars. just an FYI |

haha point taken.
Well I installed eccentric rod guides and spread some shinetsu grease on the weather strips. I'm going to spray down the car tomorrow and if water still goes in, I'll order those weather strips. Let's hope no water will leak in *crosses fingers* ![]() |

So I tried the Shin-etsu grease and eccentric rod guides. It did wonders on the driver side, but the passenger side still leaks. the ttop seal isnt flush with the window so it leaks at the center of the seal and ttop on the passenger side. Well anyways, I was wondering is this an annual sale? If not I might as well pick them up now.

No, not an annual sale per se, but I am extending it through Tuesday to take care of the people who wanted to order over the weekend since I don't work Saturdays any more. If you still want in, just call me Monday or Tuesday.
