TRd Sway bars & lowering springs

Hi Aaron,

I heard these are also going to be discontinued, is that true?

I have no indication that springs or sway bars are being discontinued at this time. And, if you need them, I keep them in stock anyway

The springs are $248.90, and shipping would be right about $26, so pretty close to $275 delivered.

They don't exist. Not from TRD, anyway. Besides which, lots of MkI owners don't consider them necessary. I'm still on stock bars too...

That quote is for TRD springs, part number PTR04-17900-10. These are the TRD Japan kit, part number 48130-SW220, but Toyota slaps a US part number sticker on the box when they arrive in the country. They show the following spring rates:

Front K=29.4N/mm
Rear K=53.9N/mm

As for what's better/worse, you'll have to ask opinions of people who've used them, search around the forums for pics and advice, etc. Just remember, it's all opinions, and everyone's needs and preferences are different...

The verdict is still out. TRD isn't telling us anything yet, or their reps don't know. it is incredibly frustrating when our customers know more about what they can get than we do .

I've called TRD and left two or three messages about the front springs, but haven't heard anything back from them yet. As always, you can get very close to your cost by visiting the TRD Japan website and dividing the cost in Yen by 100. The springs show a 7000 Yen list price in Japan, so they will cost you close to $70 each:

Check the link. They don't look to be discontinued. The soft ones comprise the set of four sold in the US as PTR04-17900-10. If you want hard springs we'd have to special order them under the Japanese number from TRD.

Everything I quote you is discounted, dude. It's automatic. It's not because I "work wonders" getting a lower price from the people I buy from, but because I make a lower profit margin that most dealerships when I resell the parts to you all .

I still can't get anyone at TRD to answer the phone, but as I mentioned, your cost will be right about $70 per spring, plus whatever it costs to ship it to you.
