It's Saturday and I'm sitting at home with a brutal head cold, but I've looked it up like three times this week so I just happen to remember the price on that kit. It is $226.41 plus whatever it costs to ship it to you, which is typically $9-12 within the US. We can't get every GenIII part, but we can get that gasket set, and we also keep GenIII plug wires, caps and rotors, and timing belts in stock.
If the engine is relatively healthy, I think you could get away with a hone job and new rings as opposed to re-boring the block for oversized pistons. Chat with some people more familiar with what stock GenIII pistons are capable of withstanding before you decide to throw them out. |

sorry to hear about the head cold but i appreciate the fast reply, lucky you remmemberd the price. as for the pistons i dont think a re-hone will justify, long story short. i some how got moisture/water in cyl.3 it seized got it to crank did compresson check and it had 60psi. BUT i need to pull it apart to see how bad it is. cyl. wall, piston rings. thanx again for the info. it will probably be a few months before i can order this kit from you and i'll keep in mind about the price change if any when it comes time.

We actually can't get the valve cover gaskets by themselves. Most GenIII specific gaskets are only available to US dealers as part of the overhaul set listed above; Toyota Motor Sales USA does not list all the individual gaskets in their system, so we simply do not have access to them.
Since we aren't given access to non-North American EPCs, we have to get our GenIII part numbers off the internet like everyone else. This thread suggests that 89621-26010 (about $352) is correct for a GenIII, but since this is an expensive electrical component, it would be ideal if you could match it up before ordering it. I can't guarantee we can accept a return on electrical parts, particularly costly proprietary parts like igniters. |

trey mr2 if you haven't tryed it yet. try a 93+ 5s igniter, when i got my clip it came with the jdm 3s igniter. long story short, i ended up using my factory 5s igniter and it worked fine. just make sure its grounded out on the fire wall with the 10mm bolts. for some reason when mine wasn't bolted down right(good ground) car ran weird.
also dont mean to take business from te51 but i needed a vavle kit as well a while back and got mine for about 50 from kbox engineering(kbox.) out of canada A, i think. hope any of this helps. |

Gen3 swap DONE!!

Thats actually what igniter I'm running now. I did have a 91 5s in it then I bought a 93 n/a parts car and put its igniter on it. I can get a video of what it does. Its like once I hit 5K sometimes 5500 rpms its like theres just not enough spark to go anymore. Runs great up until that point.

That sounds like a weak coil, cap & rotor, and/or spark plug wires. How are those?

i second that ^ te51. i had close to the same problem as you trey, i was at the track about 8 months ago and my car did about the same thing ran hard till about 5500-6.(kinda fell flat there after,no pull/top end) later that week after, i checked my ignition set up. and sure enough my cap and rotor were close to being shot. the electric contacts(where the rotor sends the spark to the cap then to the wires) was corroded. bought a new rotor and sanded down what i could off the cap cause as im sure you know. have to order cap from else where. and that "FELT" like it had its top end back. but i was unable to go to the track to see a diffrance.
