It's Saturday and I'm sitting at home with a brutal head cold. We can't get every GenIII part, but we can get that gasket set, and we also keep GenIII plug wires, caps and rotors, and timing belts in stock.

If the engine is relatively healthy, I think you could get away with a hone job and new rings as opposed to re-boring the block for oversized pistons. Chat with some people more familiar with what stock GenIII pistons are capable of withstanding before you decide to throw them out.

sorry to hear about the head cold but i appreciate the fast reply, lucky you remmemberd the price. as for the pistons i dont think a re-hone will justify, long story short. i some how got moisture/water in cyl.3 it seized got it to crank did compresson check and it had 60psi. BUT i need to pull it apart to see how bad it is. cyl. wall, piston rings. thanx again for the info. it will probably be a few months before i can order this kit from you and i'll keep in mind about the price change if any when it comes time.

Hey I got a similar questions, didn't think it was worth a whole new thread though.

Valve cover main gasket: 11213-88480 price check?

edit: also another gen3 question, can you get a gen3 igniter?

Update 05/11: We now have a source for certain Gen3 parts, including valve cover gaskets. More info here:
More Gen3 and 20V parts now in stock at Lithia Toyota

Since we aren't given access to non-North American EPCs, we have to get our GenIII part numbers off the internet like everyone else. This thread suggests that 89621-26010 (about $352) is correct for a GenIII, but since this is an expensive electrical component, it would be ideal if you could match it up before ordering it. I can't guarantee we can accept a return on electrical parts, particularly costly proprietary parts like igniters.

trey mr2 if you haven't tryed it yet. try a 93+ 5s igniter, when i got my clip it came with the jdm 3s igniter. long story short, i ended up using my factory 5s igniter and it worked fine. just make sure its grounded out on the fire wall with the 10mm bolts. for some reason when mine wasn't bolted down right(good ground) car ran weird.

also dont mean to take business from te51 but i needed a vavle kit as well a while back and got mine for about 50 from kbox engineering(kbox.) out of canada A, i think. hope any of this helps.

Thats actually what igniter I'm running now. I did have a 91 5s in it then I bought a 93 n/a parts car and put its igniter on it. I can get a video of what it does. Its like once I hit 5K sometimes 5500 rpms its like theres just not enough spark to go anymore. Runs great up until that point.

That sounds like a weak coil, cap & rotor, and/or spark plug wires. How are those?

i second that ^ te51. i had close to the same problem as you trey, i was at the track about 8 months ago and my car did about the same thing ran hard till about 5500-6.(kinda fell flat there after,no pull/top end) later that week after, i checked my ignition set up. and sure enough my cap and rotor were close to being shot. the electric contacts(where the rotor sends the spark to the cap then to the wires) was corroded. bought a new rotor and sanded down what i could off the cap cause as im sure you know. have to order cap from else where. and that "FELT" like it had its top end back. but i was unable to go to the track to see a diffrance.

No problem at all. Kbox carries a lot of things that Toyota dealers can't get, and I do send people to them when we can't get them what they need. However, just to clarify, Kbox sells a valve cover gasket set for about $50. This is not to be confused with a valve grind gasket set, which is what we typically call a head gasket set.

If you need one, we do keep the GenIII distributor cap and spark plug wires in stock here:

19101-88460 - distributor cap, GenIII 3SGTE
90919-21581 - spark plug wires, GenIII 3SGTE

The contents of an engine overhaul gasket set vary from one engine to another.

Basically, 04111-74541 does include these parts:
Head gasket
Valve cover gaskets
Valve cover grommets
PCV valve grommet
Timing cover gaskets
Valve stem seals
Camshaft seals
Intake manifold gasket
Exhaust manifold gasket
Throttle body gasket
Turbo-to-manifold gasket
Turbo-to-downpipe gasket
Downpipe to B-pipe gasket
Turbo oil and water gaskets
Oil drain pipe gasket
Oil cooler o-rings
Front crankshaft seal
Oil pump gasket
Rear crankshaft seal
Rear main seal retainer gasket
Water outlet gasket
Water bypass pipe gaskets and o-rings
Fuel injector o-rings and insulators

It does not include these parts:
Oil pan gasket (use FIPG oil sealant; there is no oil pan gasket)
Oil pump shaft seal 15165-88382 (the oil pump is sold as an assembled unit w/ seal installed)
Oil pump o-ring 15188-03011 (the oil pump is sold as an assembled unit w/ o-ring installed)
Fuel injector to head insulators 23291-76010 (4 req'd)
Water pump gasket (the water pump is sold as an assembled unit w/ gasket installed)
Thermostat gasket (also supplied with water pump)

This is as about as comprehensive as gasket sets get, but there are no guarantees that you can't find some seal or gasket on the engine that isn't included.
