In this case, they're correct. Those parts (25860-16020 for the ABV VSV and 25860-16010 for the FPR VSV) have both been discontinued. That means that Toyota doesn't have any to sell us. No dealership can get them from Toyota anymore. However, I saw on a parts locator that one dealer may still have one of each on the shelf. They retail for about $80.54 each. Give me a call if you want the number to that dealership (for obvious reasons I prefer not to post it here). Thanks Kevin!

1sttoyotaparts is Titus-Will (a Toyota dealership). They didn't show up on my dealer search as having the parts, but it's possible. Not everything in a dealer's inventory will show up when other dealers search for it.
However, if you are just seeing the part on their online catalog, be aware of this: just because you can put a part in your cart at a website does not mean that the part is actually in stock at that business. It doesn't even mean that they can get it or that it even exists anymore. It's just there because the catalog hasn't been edited to exclude every discontinued part. I hope you prove me wrong and they do have it there, but I am afraid the odds are against it. By the way, why do you need to replace these things? |

Oh wow - missing altogether? I see.
Spend an hour patrolling your closest U-pull-it style wrecking yard and see what you can find. I am confident that there will be a few that you can use on all kinds of Toyotas from the late 80s to the late 90s or so. These are pretty simple devices (just a solenoid that opens or closes a vacuum passage, depending on whether it sees twelve volts or not) and Toyota used very similar devices on many of their cars. They may not have the exact same bracket, and the vacuum fittings may face different directions, and if they have a different connector, you may have to grab a few inches of their wiring to splice the appropriate connector in. You can make this work whether the "right" parts are available or not! |

yah i think i found that the late 80's early 90's pickups have a pair of vsv's that will work and they are color coded correctly too.
