You big lady. Unless you're an upholsterer.
Having just called you a lady, I will resist the urge to also call you a flatlander. Hey, why weren't you at the Medford meet this year? |

That's awesome Ku, I just need the axle shaft by itself tho. It's a pain to remove tho, so if it's beyond what you're able to do, let me know.

I don't have the axle, but if all you need is the spline, and NOT the hub, I already have one that's pressed out, I'll grab a few photos.

The smaller piece on the right is EXACTLY what I need! As long as I can get that bearing race pulled off. I can't tell from the pic, but is there a notch around it anywhere? If not I could cut one with an angle grinder, but I'll need something for the tool to grip when I put it in a press.

you cant pull those races off man.. i think you mis understood the cut thing. you're not trying to cut grooves for the puller. you're straight up cutting the thing off! you only cut it like 9/10th's of the way just as a safety precaution to not nick the... tapered shaft which the bearing rides on, on the hub :|
![]() after you cut it nearly in half, you take a screw driver and stuff it in the cut and twist. the bearing pops off (sometimes with force, be careful). i spent two hours trying to use the press and splitters to pull races before the other guys laughed at me and handed me a grinder. took 2 minutes. as far as im concerned, theres no other way to remove those things in a reasonable fashion. The piece on the right is this mysterious "hub" Aaron and I have been referring to. The one on the left is called the spindle.

Thanks for the input guys, I was able to use a grinder to cut the channels for the press. Took a couple tries before I got them all right, but when I did it worked like a charm.
Ku Sama, I may need to seek your help yet again... |
