Those part numbers aren't working for me. What is the build date on your car? And I want to make sure your car is a turbo before we go any further. Something's not right here.
As far as shipping goes, a set of plug wires and an o2 sensor to India would be $29.25 via USPS Priority Mail International, plus the 5% international order charge over the cost of the parts. I am told that we can ship FedEx through one of our other stores across town, but apparently I need a postal code to get a quote on that. Using a New Delhi postal code I found on the internet, FedEx International Economy comes up at $90.64. |

Ok Aaron, I'm pasting copies for both parts straight out of the toyodiy.com guide.
My car is a Turbo - 12/1989 TOYOTA MR2 (SW20-AJMZZ) GT JPN TBR 3SGTE MTM 5F. Just recheck the Fed Ex Int Economy shipping cost pls, its usually the same/lower than USPS EMS service. PIN to ship to - 110049. Hope the 2 screenshots make sense ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I was the same part numbers on toyodiy, but they're not valid numbers within the USA. They may be valid in other markets, but in the US, they don't work. I am pretty certain I can provide parts that will work for your car, but I do want to confirm the build date and original sale market of your particular car to make sure we aren't overlooking something.
FedEx really is that expensive. I guess it's my turn to attach a screenshot... |

Ok mate, what other info can I give you now... my VIn was ripped apart by the previous owner from evry given corner. My chasis is SW20 001092, the screen shots have the rest of my car details. Anything else I can look for, I'd be glad to.

90919-21485 - $50.54 - Spark plug wire set 89465-29365 - $125.41 - Oxygen sensor With the numbers all removed, that is almost certainly a stolen car. I can't imagine any other reason to scrub identification numbers from a vehicle. Come to think of it, how do you register and license it with no identifying numbers? |

LOL Aaron,
In India, things work very differently. Registrations here are based on chasis/engine numbers & in case of re registration i.e transfer of ownership, the previous registration number is sufficient. VINs have no meaning with registering authorities. The car price for purchase was initially quoted to me declaring the car year as 1996. In India, dealers rip off VINs on cars coz they know a VIN is the simplest means to identify model years. They change model year to later by re-registering vehicles & demand higher quotes during sale. This is a common practise on foreign cars. Now someone like me would take a few minutes on the net to figure the true year but few buyers around here take the pain to do that. I did so & also discovered that while the car's registery had 1990 as model year, the 1990 was altered in the registration to 1996 by hand. The registration in the 90s were hand written around here. However a fresh registration of 1990 made for me because it made the old registration void. With a little revision in the quote, I was happy to buy the car, never mind I learned it was older than initially quoted, thx to its condition. Summary - VIN removed to hide model year. The car was owned by a very wealthy man & the reason I was driven to buying it is - He rode the car once in a blue moon, say on his birthday, therefore the car has inside 40k kms on it. It was handed over to a dealer for sale who had it for a month or so. This was a bad phase in the car's life. A very renowned car workshop owner who identified this car for me is registered on this forum There are approximately 5 running MR2s in the country. ![]() A stolen MR2 around here would stick out like a nude Liz Hurley on the road So there you have it Aaron, I have the presence of mind & too much on my agenda not to be riding around in a stolen car in this life. ![]() If you ever come here on holiday, besides the fine things you can experience, it would be an eye opener to visit the auto market & figure how vast the second hand car slae industry is & yet how few the MR2s are & yes, not to forget a visit to Delhi's FPO to really see true tolerence by masses towards inefficiency & corruption ![]() Mailed you my entire order. Thx Aaron ![]() Last edited by Trak Turtle; 06-23-2009 at 06:34 AM. |

Well, of course! I'm well aware of why the numbers don't work. My concern is finding numbers that do work! |

Excellent! I'm glad everything worked out after all is said and done. So it's running better now?
I will try to talk to the store manager here and find out how hard it would be to get a FedEx account too, so shipping isn't so awkward next time! |

Out of curiosity, is there a "production date" included on the seat belt tag? In the States, there is, or at least used to be prior to VIN stickers placed on the body panels.
I was looking at a '70's vintage car that a towing company was offering for sale. There were indications that the VIN number on the dash was "added" at a later date, i.e. not the original number. The police were called and they checked the tag on the seat belt and determined that the VIN number on the dash could not have been associated with the car as originally manufactured. Just thought there might be "hidden" places which are not widely known that could help determine the production date of your car. |
