This is true. Unfortunately, if there is something sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere, I'll never find out about it from Toyota. Might find something on Yahoo Japan auctions or something. maybe it's the hard spring, i remember there use to be a trd spring that was orange but i wasn't sure it was trd

Well, without accusing anyone of anything, it looks like that may be recycled rumor. The only springs TRD has listed for the SW20 for several years are the exact same springs we are selling. The pics clearly even show the "JDM" TRD Japan part number right on the black springs. It's entirely possible thatthe same springs were once painted white rather than black, leading to the misconception that there are/were two different sets of springs available.

Now, strictly speaking, TRD also offers moderately stiffer rear coils for the SW20, but they're sold individually, not as part of a vehicle set. Since those are Japanese special order parts, not a lot of people are interested in waiting four months to get them; consequently, I've never seem them, and can't comment on their color, past or present.

hmmm. what needs clarification, Oteck? i can get a pic wen i do my brake hoses/ i have a prokit.

however i do find it hilarious that they put "eibach" on all the springs just as TRD did, but the rear springs have the label upside down for proper installation...
