Wiper Arms
I'm wondering if I could please get a quote on two wiper arms (driver and passenger side) for my 89 MR2 shipped to 17512.
Thank you! |

You guys want arms or blades? People often confuse the two. The blade holds the rubber, and attaches to the end of the arm with two screws. The arm mounts to the splined shaft at the windshield cowl, and holds the blade with those two screws.
I can still get them, but wiper arms are wicked expensive - a pair of AW11 arms would be $167 plus $9-12 for shipping. If yours are just faded, save the money and invest in a little elbow grease, sandpaper, self-etching primer, and trim paint: ![]() |

Are there any aftermarket or conversion methods in place to be able to install Bosch ICON Wiper Blades on the '91 mr2?
The wiper arm needs to be replaced or modified it seems because the connector for the wiper blade is different. |

I think you want hook style arms, as used from August 1992 forward. They're about $114 a pair.

If those can fit onto my '91 MR2 I would be interested in ordering those.

Quote:
The reason for the new arms was because the plastic ears that hold the wiper on cracked in half and it sent my wiper flying off! If that plastic screw on piece that goes onto the arm is part of the blade, which it sounds to be with the way you described it, then I will just get a set of blades. Thank you! |

I'll just chime in here, I've redone several sets now... sandpaper, a little (or lot, depending on condition) of sanding, and some flat black spray paint applied evenly and properly and you're set. That said, you may have to touch them up once or twice if they get chips/cracks. I gotta redo the one on the back of my Land Cruiser again but it lasted about a year before I lost any paint, and at that it is just a chip by where it bolts on... and since I redid it this chip is now driving me nuts. Not a bad little project at all unless yours are in REALLY bad shape.
