Ok I have to replace that compressor the previous owner ran with leaking gas. It sounds like a monkey jumping on a tin roof.

The numbers I got are -
88320 COMPRESSOR ASSY, COOLER
88320-17090 SW20

88410 CLUTCH ASSY, MAGNET
88410-17060 SW20

Will these two assemblies sink in with each other without additional parts or do i need something else, unless you've got clutch with compressor together as one part too.
Aaron, let me know if I got the parts right pls.
Can I get the shipping too & net cost with sensor shipped together pls. Thx.

That $6.00 shipping figure that Tracy quoted was for a US address - he didn't notice that you're outside the country. The USPS website is not working at the moment, so I am not able to figure your shipping costs, but here are the part prices:

89546-17010 - $148.90 - Sensor, wheel speed, left rear
88320-17091-84 - $295.89 - Compressor assy, remanufactured
+ core charge - $20.00
88410-17060 - $165.75 - Clutch assembly
88335-12050 - $0.47 - Washer (shim) kit for clutch

You will also need a couple of o-rings for the new compressor, but those are best supplied by the shop that will be installing the compressor and charging your A/C system.

Got that Aaron, thanks. Is the compressor remanufactured?
The A/C guy here's good. He'll seal the refrigeration fine.
I'm off to Bangkok next week for work & want to attempt looking for a Toyota supplier & saving on shipping. I'm not very hopeful & i will barely have an hour or 2 to visit a market but I should give it a try.
Give me a week please.

Hey Trak even my a/c compressors makin a clikin/rattling sound and the cooling is virtually non-existent at idle.Theres a guy in okhla ph 3 whos advised me to get a compresor thats compatible i.e from a 2000cc car and he will then make the required adaptors to bolt up the new comp.A friend of mine who got an a/c fitted to his Gypsy reffered me to this person although i have not met him personally as yet.Let us know how the reconned compresor works as ive been advised not to fit it.

Interesting. I have to wonder why someone would suggest re-inventing the wheel (i.e. adapting parts from another car) when the original, correct, high-quality parts are still available. if you were trying to add A/C to an old car (a Hillman Husky, for example) then yeah, adapt something modern. Otherwise, it makes sense to take advantage of the design work that Toyota's engineers have already done.

Unless you are the guy getting paid to adapt parts - then I guess you'd want to convince people to pay you to do something

Aaron is right there monstr. The stock compressor is available & there's more to a compressor than meets the eye... rotations, pulley, clutch, capacity & more that are directly involved with the engine's rotations. Then again, adaptors & brackets will take away from the stock placement of the compressor & if you do get it dead right, it'll be by chance.
My compressor cools ok, I just can't stand the sound of the bearing Nothing like the original new thing, it'll keep your car happy, always.

Keep your lovely car away from Okhla mate, they can mess it up fairly easily.

Aaron, is the quote on a remanufactured unit? Just a little confused coz the annotation against your quote mentions it.
Thx

Yes, it is. That's why I specified New compressors are no longer available, and are crazy money when they are.

Well i know next to nothin about the a/c system and i
figured from your statement that i should forget about
fittin a compresor from another car.
The reason i was thinkin along those lines was becose the
new compresor wasnt availiable and the dealer said even if it
was - it would prbly cost $900.

I should be the one warning you about okhla as i am still
suffering the consequences of an attempted scam by the
mechanics at Lakozy.

Regarding the compresor, the reason i did not go in for a
reconned one was becos i was advised against it,but do you
recommend it ?

Aaron thx.

Surely yes monstr, a remanufactured compressor is manufactured over and is like new, especially if its coming from a Toyota spares distributor.
