They are still available:
84110-17030 - $74.15 - Switch assy, light control, no.2 This is saved on quote number 50921 if you need to place the order. Your intermittent contact is caused by cold or broken solder contacts within the switch. You can often restore the functionality of the old switch by re-soldering the joints in the switch if you don't want to buy a new one yet. All the grease you found is supposed to be there. |

well what kind of greese is it? i need to buy some. i think it might be some wires inside the switch, that or a ground but i don't know much about electrical stuff so i am not to sure about the ground. i will look at the switch to see if its salvagable. ty!

It's some sort of dielectric grease, I think, but I don't imagine you need to buy any. It's not like the switch must be packed with grease for it to work. Go over those solder joints carefully and I think you have a good chance of restoring the switch for at least a while.

i am working nights but when i get to sleep at a normal hour, ill be sure to give you a ring to order the switch. also i want to try to look at the grounds if i can find them. i think i know what one it is but i am not sure. my car has this weird cut off switch that was factory installed and it was grounded when i bought the car. when i was doing some work on the dash it might have been disconnected. >>
