Food for thought yes but it is sort of irrelevant now. I will tear it down and do an autopsy on it to see if I can see signs of detonation or anything but it ran for such a short time I will probably not find anything. I guess I will close the chapter on it then. The 3sge should be going in in the next few days and then the fun of wiring it up begins. It will go 3sgte eventually with a stand alone system and a full tune and that should see good reliability and even better horsepower.

Good to see your car is moving along as well, I don't think I have gone quite as far as naming my mods yet. Post up when you get it all running and cleaned up and a horsepower reportback of coarse.

    Hey 328 Ferrari T?W?:

Uh, your post about blowing your Gz engines got me thinking. It made me start the thread on rebuilts being garbage. I've been thinking along the lines of the SC engine being incompatible with an air filter short-cut right to the AFM. I'm wondering if the EFI for the Sc needs a ungainly, awkward column of air trapped in a stupidly convoluted stock intake tube. So that in response to an abrupt throttle movement too much doesn't get by too quickly and cause a detonation. Perhaps your NA throttle body upgrade compounded this threorhetical problem? Food for thought. I've started and almost finished an intake upgrade, I'm calling the Jethro Bodine Special. It'll be in my photobucket in a few minutes.
