Uh, your post about blowing your Gz engines got me thinking. It made me start the thread on rebuilts being garbage. I've been thinking along the lines of the SC engine being incompatible with an air filter short-cut right to the AFM. I'm wondering if the EFI for the Sc needs a ungainly, awkward column of air trapped in a stupidly convoluted stock intake tube. So that in response to an abrupt throttle movement too much doesn't get by too quickly and cause a detonation. Perhaps your NA throttle body upgrade compounded this threorhetical problem? Food for thought. I've started and almost finished an intake upgrade, I'm calling the Jethro Bodine Special. It'll be in my photobucket in a few minutes. Here's the link:
