Ben, I just purchased an '85 MR2 and need some help. The engine cranks but will not start. The car is still at my friends house and I can either bring it to my place and you can look at it or we can look at it at my friends place. Either way I can pick you up and pay you for the trouble. could you recommend a machine shop for resurfacing cyl head and doing flywheel weight reductions? My head gasket is leaking and maybe the head has slight warpage.

I'm totally interested in purchasing a color changing one, and tried to post on your thread, but apparently don't have the privileges, so I am here to ask you if you are still making them. If you are, I was looking to get the center that reads 'mr2' with blue for regular, red for brake and white for reverse. I hope I didn't miss out on these!!! konnichiwa Ben-san. I had a quick question on rev2 MAF stuff.

They are really sensitive are they not?? I removed the aircleaner box and disconnected the MAF sensor by trying to remove the sensor itself instead of taking the connector off(didnt have anything to take the clip off for the connector) So now, after I changed my blown coolant line and put back together the airbox, the eng runs for 1 sec and shuts off. Would you say thats a classic case of an inop MAF?

I hope its something simple like reseting the ECU because the MAF was disconnected with battery still hooked up.....

-nevermind, my spider senses told me it was the MAF so I just took it apart from the glued on plastic cover, sure enough, the 3 point solder connection had broke from when I foolishly pulled on after removing the screws. I redid the connection and now it works so far.

lesson learned for me.....
