Front lower spoiler (stock bumper in place) was actually on a Mustang. It measured out to be a fit for the the Mark 1 bumper I couldn't believe it. It worked perfectly to give me access to a jacking area under the front of the car. I ran 2" side spoiler extensions and couldn't get a jack under the sides of the car!
That huge spoiler came off a VW bug trunk, you may have seen them in the 80's. I cut it off and fiberglassed it to a molded in look on the trunk. I also added rear brake cooler inlets alongside the wing on the flat section of the trunk deck for brake cooling which was a problem when I began serious SCCA competition.
Think that's radical? I built a replacement engine cover out of wood paneling with three fans to pull air from the engine compartment and thru the intercooler when I was in the pits or waiting to get to the track.
II ditched the huge overhead scoop which I put ice in to cool the intercooler between runs. It disappeared at 130mph on the Florida Turnpike one racy night.
Never cared about looks, if it helped performance I tried it.
Never cared much about what others thought of my car, still don't.
