If its a non LSD tranny yes. If its a LSD tranny, you will need the inner half of both Axles to fit into the tranny, but the outer half of your normal turbo axles will bolt right up to them. Some GEN3s with LSD were shipped with the outer axle torch cut out of the car. If yours was, don't throw them away, you will still need rthe inner half.

They come apart at the CV joint. It's messy and filled with grease. Add more grease and match your outer half with the inner halfs. Make sure you torque them down properly. If not they will come apart will driving and rip a hole in the bottom of your tranny.

No the fuse box is not cracked or broken. Where do you think I should start looking for the fray wire? Thanks again

Yes it sounds like you have a frayed wire that is rubbing on metal somewhere. The fuse box is just a holder to make connections. I don't see why replacing it would make a difference. Is it cracked or broken?

Hi, Just wondering if my car may be having grounding problems. My rear reverse bulb keeps blowing and my fuse box on the drivers side keeps blowing the fuse that controls the exterior lights except for the headlights. My auto electrician has said that the entire fuse box needs to go. Do you think it may be the grounding? I normally just replace the fuse and the bulb to get around the problem. What do you think?

Unbolt the three bolts on the shock towers, unbolt the lower suspension arems, disconnect the abs cables and brake lines, then unbolt the rear motor mount . Jack the car up and it will fall out. To disconnect the abs and brake lines you will have to take off the wheels then put them back on before you unbolt the rest.

As you jack up the car, you need to be carful to unbolt the axles and give them a hit to break free from the wheel.

Hey how did you get the two wheels and the under brace off in one piece when you was swapping in the gen.3?

I would drain it and add new syncromesh tranny fluid. Amsol or any of the popular syncromesh oils will smooth out a sticky tranny. If there is actual damage or a problem with the syncos, you could take it to any tranny shop to have it rebuilt, that may cost you about $800 but you would have a full fresh tranny. You could buy a used tranny for about $600 but you are still at the a loss as to the condition of the used tranny, so rebuilding the tranny may be a better bet. Your final solution is a brand new in the box tranny with LSD will cost you about $2k.

Mr2 turbo 3rd gear sync problems
I have had my car for some time but she use to be a Sunday car but due to the economy i sold my Camry one year now and the MR 2 is now almost a daily driving car.Third gear has always been a little tricky, to engage from 2nd to 3rd and from 4th back to 3rd gear. I drove with it like this for some time but since the start of the year I've noticed that it is getting harder to engage third gear. Is it that 3rd gear is going and i may need a new tran? The other gears work fine and when parked all the gears are easily engage-able. Any ideas ?
