Choose a 215/40-17 tire on that 17x7 front instead of the taller 215/45 (which will likely rub). Your rear of a 245/40 on a 17x8 is good.
Don't forget your wheels offsets, they're important. If you can get +35 for front and rear in those widths than you're doing very well. You can go as low as +25 or as high as +43 (even higher) without rubbing the fenders and suspension respectively.

Hi i was reading this old post and it seemed you'd have an answer for me. I have a 91Turbo T-top. Stock loaded. I'm going with 17" wheels all around and I'm having problems coming up with the no brainer tire sizes. Can i go with 17"-7". 215/45/17 on the front and 17"-8" 245/40/17 on the rear with no rubbing or any other problems?
