For Sale: 1988 NA, blue, 5-speed, maine $1500

I love my mr2, but with me getting a 93 my wife will not let me keep this one. It is a 88 NA with 225k miles on the body and maybe 50k on a rebuilt engine. The car lived almost all of it's life in florida so it does not have the usual rust that cars have in this area. I replaced the timing belt, water pump and all associated parts around 3-4k ago. It has been stored during the winter and driven only a few times I have had it. I replaced the air flow meter this summer so it runs really good. The interior is in really good shape for the miles and year with no tears in the seat or carpet. The only bad thing about the interior is there is a crack in the dash above the clock. The car has t-tops with shades and brand new t-top seals. Everything mechanical including the parking brake and all the doors (engine lid, both trunks and gas door)work. There is also a full size spare that goes with the car. I have a bunch of mr2 related parts (head, axles, H & T sway bar, hood, trunk lid, engine lid, etc) if the owner is interested.

Now the bad, the previous owner had a really cheap paint job so the clear coat has started to peel and the paint on the bumpers is flaking off. There were also a few surface rust spots that where sanded, primered and painted with close to the same color paint. The suspension is a little worn out and may require replacing. (I have most of the replacements parts if the buyer is interested in getting them) The muffler is a little loud due to a couple holes in it.

I am open to offers as the car needs to go soon. The car is not registered so I can not drive it at the moment.
