For Sale: 1987 MR2 with modified engine/custom paint

This beautiful car has a new black paint job wtih blue reflective pearl coat 'blue frost', with custom ghosted silver spider emblems on hood and bumper. NO RUST> Completely gone through body, sanded like glass for paint job.

Engine has nitrided shaft, new pistons, rods, bearings, distributor, oil pump, alternator, platinum tipped plugs, 272 degree dwell HKS cams with clockable cam gears, extrude honed head, new rings. New front bushings. New brakes, bearings, rear hubs. Odometer is meaningless. Components and engine have only about 8k miles on them at most.

Good interior. I have easily $4500 of improvements in this car. I hypermile and am able to get up to 46 mpg. That's right, I can get 46 mpg with this thing. Regularly gets between 33 and 36 mpg on highway if you drive it like a madman. I'm selling it because i need the money, but I know I will be in tears when I sell it. Oh......has Tops also. 5 speed tranny with relatively new clutch

I'm more interested in the body than the engine- specifically the underbody. I'd be taking the car to a place where cars go to rust, and I dont want to see that happen. If it's clean and rust free udnerneith, I can do a good rustproofing on her, and that's what I want.
I'd be looking to buy mid-may, that's the soonest I can get out of this state.

Nope, don't do AIM. The underbody is rust free. Of course, I could have missed something when I was looking under there....

If it is still around in May, come on down and look at it. I'm trying to get the C pillar middle trim put back on so the car looks finished. Damned hard to find.

As to mileage.....To hypermile, I coast up to stop lights, turn off the car at strategic lights, avoid left turns, coast down hills on the interstate and on to/from work. Keep tires inflated properly, use a good oil additive or synthetic oil. Doing this in mixed city/highway driving on my daily 32 mile commute I have gotten up to 46 mpg. I am thinking of putting a full fairing on the bottom of the car and lowering it to three inches. I have heard that can get you an additional 5 to 8 mpg.

As for "looking" at it, I'd be coming with intention to buy- If it can be arranged with you, if we could chat I could possibly send a down payment before hand, and then pay the rest when I was able to pick it up (mid may, when school lets out)- But I'd really like to chat more about this car and its condition!
