89 MK1 - need price
Vehicle Location: Dayton, Ohio Vehicle Price: unknown Vehicle Odometer: 68,000 I am the third owner. Always garaged, no rust. This has been a summer car and always overwintered in a garage, on jack stands, under cover. Original paint with a few small scratches, chips over the years. Interior like new. Overall very nice condition. Silver metallic with gray cloth interior. Five speed, t's, all options. Non-turbo. 68000 original miles. All original.
Thinking of selling but prices seem low in general. It's hard to find a comparable condition vehicle. What's it worth? |

The cars aren't worth a whole lot in general, but that's very low miles.
Got some pics? more information about the engine/brakes/etc? I may be interested, even, if you'd be willing to wait a couple months to sell. |

being NA, they usually don't fetch a huge amount. Maybe 3k or so for the right buyer I'd suspect? In a market like that, it's very limited and you won't pull high prices from most people. You'd have to sit on it or get lucky w/ the right buyer to sell it for much morethan that I assume.

I should note that the Monza exhaust has been replaced by stock. I still have the Monza but is way too loud for me! -Ken

Thanks for the advice, fellas. I realized now that the old MK1's just don't pull enough dough to make it worthwhile to sell her. To confirm my feelings I attended the annual auto show to see what the manufacturers are selling. There are no exciting offerings from the manufacturers for less than about 30k. No thanks. With MK1's selling for $1500 to $3000 it just doesn't make sense to sell.
Shiny original paint, tires less than 100 miles, no rust, etc. Yesterday I pulled her off the jack stands and took a drive. Reminded me how much fun it is. I took her to a parking lot and explored the limits of handling, then enjoyed some back roads. Once back home, I detailed and realized how new she still looks and feels. I think I'll just enjoy her on those sunny summer days to come. Guess I just needed some perspective..! |

Very nice car and the miles are rather low. I can offer $3000 and I am a cheap bastard. Car is worth at least $4000.
