FS: White 1987 Toyota MR2 NA

White 1987 Toyota MR2 NA

I am parting ways with my MR2. I bought this car in 2001 with about 145k miles on it. Since then I have done as much work as I could on this car. I stopped driving it two years ago and only take it out on occasions.

I have replaced the clutch, throw out beering, pressure plate, and the fork. The brakes are decently new with two new rotors in the front. The rotors in the back are fine. Also I put a new master cylinder on. The interior was originally blue but I took out all of the interior and replaced what I could with black parts and painted the rest black. I installed a new engine in 2003. While the engine was out I put on a new water pump, fuel pump, belts, and anything else I could replace. I did not open up the block however. The engine had 87,000 miles on it when I put it in and now has about 90,000 miles on it. The engine runs great along with the transmission that I left untouched, excpet for some synthetic oil I put in it. The car has A/C and I replaced a aluminum pipe that I found a hole with but I have not charged the system since then as I don't drive it that much. So I'm not sure if the system will hold a charge or not. But the compressor does work and without leaks blows cold. The car comes with four tires (of course) and two winter ones for the rear, which are handy here in buffalo.

Over all the car is mechanically much better than when I found it, but still needs some work The car is a blast to drive and it's too bad I can't devote any more time on the car. I have not tried to pass New York inspection for two years. The body could use some work along with the electrical. The T-Tops leak a little and there is some rust on the body, although the previous owner did some fiber glass work on the rear wheel wells. However these are usual things you'll find on a car of this age from the north.

If you have any questions please email or call, I'm happy to answer any questions. The price is $1000 firm. I will not change this unless you want to give me more.
