the switch is known to go bad
the buzzing sound...... there's generally a buzzing sound when the key is left in the ignition.... this sounds completely random... but it isn't..... behind the interior panel on the drivers side (behind drivers seat) there's a relay.... it's meant so that if you leave the lights on and the ignition is off and you open your doors, your lights turn off automatically (kind of like a "you can't leave your headlights on" type of switch). This relay is tied into the ignition in the sense that if you unplug this relay, the buzzing sound of the key in the ignition stops.... so... either that relay is bad and/or the switch is bad |

the switch (around the instrument cluster) is KNOWN to go bad.... replace that first |
